The city of Ouarzazate was founded in 1928 and is located at the intersection of the Draa and Dades valleys. Located on the main road separating mountains and desert, it is an ideal place to visit Ksar Aï Ben Haddou or the palm grove of Skoura.
Ouarzazate has several hotels and restaurants, as well as beautiful sites to see such as municipal gardens or the Kasbah of Taourirt which is in ruins. To go to the Dades Valley, just take and follow Avenue Mohamed V which crosses the city.
The city is a film industry, hundreds of films have been shot here and several big names stand out like Oliver Stone or Ridley Scott. Close to the city are the Atlas film studios and CLA studios that allow tourists to visit the place. You’ll even find Game of Thrones Castle! And 10km to the south is the oasis of Finnt, and further the dam of ElMansour Eddehbi which is fed by the rivers of Ouarzazate and the Dades valley. The dam irrigates the golf yard and the palm groves of the DRAA, and supplies the valley with electricity.
Then you have 7km northwest of Ouarzazate, the famous Kasbah of Tiffoultoute whose view from its terrace is very pleasant. It has now become a restaurant.
