After 45 minutes of slow driving along the Agadir to Marrakech highway, we will stop to observe the famous goat climbing up the argan tree.
Moroccan goats climb only one special tree: the argan tree, which can only be found around the Atlas Mountains in central Morocco. The tree produces small yellow flowers and then a small fruit. The seeds of the fruit are in the nuts, which are surrounded by soft pulp and tough skin.
The pulp of the fruit attracted the goat to the Argan tree. Although these creatures will happily put all their hooves firmly on the ground and eat low-hanging fruits, once they gobble up easily accessible agricultural products, they will climb the trees to find more. Fruits are not eaten by humans.
The Moroccan goats have found a meal they all like and do not need to compete.
